I have been fully behind Fred Thompson for president, because he seemed the most viable and pretty much stood for everything I believed in. Then I started hearing more spin from the Huckabee side and considered him. Huckabee really started taking off last month, man I thought Huckabee might be a better choice than Thompson. But the more your in the limelight the more scruntity descends on you and that is what is happening to Huckabee.
Huckabee’s tenure as Governor of Arkansas is not very impressive. It really bothered me about him pushing for the children of Illegal Immigrants to receive free or lower rates for entry into college, and at the last GOP debate he said in good concious he could not change his mind on that “I can’t blame the children because their parents are Illegal” thats ok, don’t blame them, but don’t give them special treatment either. This bothers me a lot.
Huckabee released his immigration policy today and guess what it looks pretty similar to Fred Thompsons, he released his in October.
I’m a death penalty advocate and it really bothered me to learn that while Gov. of Arkansas, Huckabee commutated or pardoned more that 703 people (only 1 death penalty) thats more than his 6 surrounding neighbors combined.
It makes me wonder if old Mike might just be to sympathetic toward Illegals and to soft on Law Enforcement.
Like I said as a candidate becomes more prominent in the race the more scruntity they will receive and more revealed about them.
I want a President that will protect American borders and Citzens………….Fred Thompson is back to being my “Main Man”

I really don’t understand, why when the people express their wishes over and over again, those people elected to office to represent these people and their wishes fight to go against them. I’m beginning to believe as soon as these Senators and Congressmen are elected to office and take the oath (to serve the country and peope) they develope some kind of syndrome, wherein they truly think they are elevated to a far higher level than the people whom they are appointed to serve. Its not only the Illegal issue, which the people have indicated their opposition to over and over again, its many other issues, family values, war, economy, civil rights, abortion, just about anything. The people are against it, their elected officials for it. Dosn’t make sense. We have a really disfunctional goverment and we better wake up and put some good people in office, its way over due…………The majority of American CITZENS do not want Illegal’s here and do not want those here to have amensty………….

I did not watch the GOP presidential debate Sunday night, but from what I have read and seen it was about the same as all the others. The first canidate that stands up and says I believe in God, I will fight illegal immigration and santuary cities who harbor them, and I will protect the US from terrorists and forcefully say it, will probably get my vote. The problem is they keep skirting around the issues instead of taking a forceful stand. They are pandering to much, both dems and reps are trying unforcefully to appease everyone and it won’t work. Fred Thompson still seems to be the best alternative.

As it stands at the present time, Fred Thompson is not coming on strong, but there is plenty of time. He is my choice for President at this time.
